Change can be daunting; nevertheless – it’s a fact of life.

Orthodontic treatment is a major investment. You and your family are putting in time and money, and making lifestyle adjustments to achieve the healthy smile you deserve. Still – “life happens.”

While it may certainly be preferable to stick with one orthodontic practice for the duration of your treatment, the need to transfer orthodontists for a variety of reasons is common. Here are some scenarios that may have patients scouting out a new orthodontist – all justifiable!

MOVING

In-state or out-of-state, a change in home base is cause for seeking out a new practitioner – even in this age of telemedicine.

Koch Orthodontics has welcomed patients who come to us amidst parents or family members starting new jobs; college students; and families serving in the armed services.

We have also helped facilitate transfers for patients moving out of the Western New York area while they are under our care. It is a reality we recognize.

Sometimes a family move is unexpected; again, we will welcome patients transferring into our practice, or help departing patients find a new provider.

The goal is to keep your treatment on track as stringently as possible. As such, pre-planning can go a long way. For instance, if you plan to leave the area for college and you will still be in treatment, keep us in the loop! We can help schedule check-ups or tightenings when you are home during break.

A Switch Due to Scheduling

Some patients opt to transfer their orthodontist mid-treatment because they’re seeking appointment scheduling that better accommodates their busy lives.

At Koch Orthodontics, we always do our best to help set appointment dates and times that work for you and your family. Many satisfied patients on both our Testimonials page and portfolio of Google reviews have praised the effort we make in scheduling check-ups and visits that are convenient for them, all with a caring and friendly demeanor from our amazing team!

Koch Orthodontics Accepts transferring patients

Patients with treatment in-progress have sought transfers to Koch Orthodontics for a number of reasons,  all of them valid. These “transfers” quickly become our “teammates”… and family, as well!

Sometimes a patient’s general dentist or the orthodontist they’re departing from will recommend us, some patients contact us directly – finding us through the internet or word of mouth.

However you make your way through our doors, we will go above and beyond to ensure your treatment is stewarded to the desired conclusion – a healthy, beautiful smile you’re proud to show off.

We ask that all patients interested in transferring into our practice have their current practitioner download, complete and submit an AAO (American Association of Orthodontists) Transfer Form, linked in the button below. The line of questioning will help us determine where you stand with your treatment, the remaining work that must be completed, and any potential complexities in your case.

If you are considering transferring orthodontists, please don’t hesitate to use our website as a resource to learn more about who we are and what we do.
