Invisalign ®

Koch Orthodontics is the only Full-Time Livingston County orthodontic office that utilizes invisalign’s services.

What Does This Mean?

Invisalign Services” means your treatment with Invisalign is not confined to merely “getting and wearing your aligners.” Our practice’s relationship with Invisalign means we have their latest technology suite and customer service at our finger tips. In turn, Invisalign works harder and better for you!

It means that every patient determined to be a candidate for Invisalign will have their treatment plan coordinated by Dr. Keith Koch, Dr. Ryan Koch and the Koch Ortho team.

It means you have a practice geographically close to you, and can avoid lenghthy commutes to orthodontic offices outside of your area.

It means you’ll be wearing Invisalign® aligners. NOT ClearCorrect, Smile Direct Club, Spark Aligners or any other competing aligner system. These competitors may seem more “budget friendly” but cannot compare to the quality of Invisalign nor the amount of technology and resource Koch Orthodontics has at our disposal when treating orthodontic issues with the Invisalign system.

Most importantly, it means you don’t have to “Put your life on hold” while you undergo treatment. Invisalign’s discreet, “barely there” appearance means you can participate in sports, play musical instruments, socialize – you name it! No one will know you’re weaing Invisalign… unless you tell them! Plus, so long as you follow treatment instructions, you can conclude treatment quicker than with traditional braces, and with fewer trips to the orthodontist!

    How the Invisalign system works

Our orthodontists use computerized scans of your teeth and mouth to carefully craft a series of finely calibrated aligners, tailored specifically for you to correct your orthodontic issue. Each set of aligners is to be worn full time (22 hours a day) for one to two weeks.

As you replace each aligner with the next, your teeth will begin to move gradually — week-by-week until the final alignment prescribed is attained.

The “Invisible” Treatment That is Growing In Use!

The technology surrounding the Invisalign aligner system is constantly improving and evolving. These improvements not only make the Invisalign aligner system more efficient, but also allow Invisalign to treat more complex cases.

As a result of these technological advancements, more and more patients are candidates for the Invisalign aligner system, including children, adults and even you?

    Invisalign Teen®

Invisalign aligners have changed the perception on how orthodontic treatment is associated with adolescence.

Teenage patients who are candidates for Invisalign can enjoy the discreet appearance of the clear, removable aligner technology. While the orthodontic industry as a whole has worked hard to combat the stigma of wearing braces, Invisalign Teen truly lets patients go through school, sports, and social and family life without feeling apprehensive about their appearance. Plus – the discipline required to maintain aligner wear compliance is a great test run for a young person’s responsibilities in “the real world!”

    Invisalign First®

Invisalign’s evolving technology continues to accommodate the orthodontic needs of ALL patients who are determined to be candidates, especially those who are children or adolescents.

We are proud to utilize Invisalign First in our treatment suite, geared towards younger patients! For orthodontic cases in children where we determine Phase I interceptive treatment is advisable, Invisalign clear aligners often prove to be a viable treatment option to start moving teeth into their correct positions.

    Invisalign First aligners are:

    • Designed to effectively treat a broad range of orthodontic issues (simple or complex) in growing children – including crowding, spacing, and narrow dental arches
    • Easy to take out for eating and oral hygiene care
    • Optimized for maximum comfort in the patients mouth: no rubbing brackets or poking wires with an expedient time of getting patients adjusted to using this appliance

    Aligner Wear Compliance

While Invisalign aligners are removable and afford slightly more leeway with lifestyle modification than traditional braces, you need to adhere to aligner wear guidelines, and you are “truly in control of your destiny” and treatment results here.

Your Invisalign aligners should be worn 20 to 22 hours a day. You should only take them out for eating, drinking and oral care (brushing and flossing). We understand and appreciate that it may be tempting to remove your aligners – especially in social situations – but please be diligent here.

When your teeth move into their new positions as you undergo Invisalign treatment, this is a process known as “tracking”

The number one cause of treatment not “tracking” as planned is failure to wear your aligners for the prescribed amoumt of daily time. Issues with tracking can increase the duration of your treatment time and can affect your final outcome.

Again, it’s important you maintain the compliance guidelines we provide to you! This is a team effort, and we want your treatment to succeed! Read more about Invisalign tracking here.
